Overview

The Scott Contessa Strike eRIDE 910 is a mountain bike built for trail riding, offering strong motor support and a responsive feel that makes climbing hills and navigating rough terrain manageable. With a powerful 600W motor and 85Nm of torque, it delivers smooth assistance that feels lively for its weight, while front and rear suspension improves comfort on uneven surfaces. The removable battery adds convenience for charging and storage, though the 625Wh capacity provides only a modest range of 40km, which may require careful planning for longer rides. While the bike excels in off-road performance, its weight and battery efficiency mean it's better suited for trail-focused use rather than daily commuting or extended trips.

Best For

✓

This mountain e-bike should suit riders who prioritize off-road performance, trail control and climbing support. Its high torque and power-to-weight ratio make it well-suited for challenging terrain, while the front and rear suspension should enhance comfort on rough surfaces. The removable battery adds flexibility for charging away from the bike, which is useful for longer rides or multi-day trips. Riders who value responsive assistance that feels natural with their effort will likely appreciate how the torque sensor and motor power work together.

Who Should Avoid It

×

Riders planning long off-road rides may want to compare alternatives, as the battery capacity and range are below average for similar mountain e-bikes, which could limit endurance on extended trails. The charging time is also shorter than average for this type of e-bike, which may not be ideal for riders needing faster recharge options after long rides. However, the bike still offers strong hill climbing support and trail control, making it a solid choice for riders prioritizing performance over extended range.

Bosch Performance Line CX (Generation 4)

This mountain e-bike offers a strong and responsive motor setup that should feel capable and lively on trails, with good support for climbing and low-speed control. Next to similar e-bikes, the motor power and torque should provide a noticeable edge in terms of assistance and traction on rough terrain. The torque should help with climbing and pushing through technical sections, while the power-to-weight balance should make the assistance feel more immediate and lively in real riding. The torque sensor should contribute to a smooth and proportional power delivery, allowing for better control and adjustability depending on the terrain. Riders looking for a mountain e-bike that feels confident and responsive on trails, with strong support for climbs and technical riding, should find this motor setup well-suited to their needs.

This explanation is based on the bike’s motor power, torque, battery capacity, claimed range, charging time, sensor type and how those figures compare with similar e-bikes in our database.

eBike FAQs

Is this bike suitable for long off-road rides?

This bike is well-suited for off-road trails, thanks to its mountain bike design, front and rear suspension, and strong motor support for climbing. The 600W motor and 85Nm of torque provide good assistance on rough terrain, but the 40-mile range may require careful planning for longer rides. While it handles trails confidently, its battery efficiency and weight make it better for trail-focused use rather than extended off-road adventures.

How does the motor perform when climbing steep trails?

The motor should provide strong support when climbing steep trails, thanks to its 85 Nm of torque and 600 W of power. This makes it above average for similar mountain e-bikes in terms of hill climbing performance. However, the power delivery may feel a bit mixed depending on riding conditions, and the battery efficiency is average, so you may need to plan for regular charging on longer climbs.

Does the bike handle rough terrain comfortably?

The Scott Contessa Strike eRIDE 910 is built for rough terrain, with front and rear suspension that should significantly improve comfort on uneven surfaces. The hydraulic disc brakes provide confident stopping power, which is essential for trail riding. While it's not designed for daily commuting, it should handle rough roads and trails well, making it a solid choice for off-road adventures.

Is the battery capacity enough for a full day of mountain biking?

The battery capacity of 625 watt-hours should provide enough power for a full day of mountain biking, depending on how aggressively you ride and the terrain. However, the range of 40 miles is below average for similar e-bikes, so if you plan to ride long distances or tackle steep trails frequently, you may need to plan for mid-day charging. The battery is removable, which makes it easier to charge during the day if needed.

How easy is it to charge and replace the battery?

The battery on this Scott Contessa Strike eRIDE 910 is removable, which makes charging more convenient, especially if you need to charge it away from home. However, the battery capacity is average for similar mountain e-bikes, and the range is below average, so you may need to plan charging stops for longer rides. The battery takes around 4.5 hours to charge fully, which is faster than some similar models but still something to consider for multi-day trips.

Is this bike good value for its price and performance?

This bike offers a strong balance of performance and price for a mountain e-bike. The motor power and power-to-weight ratio are above average, which should provide confident climbing and trail control. While the battery efficiency is average for this type of e-bike, the price is favourable compared to similar models, making it a good value option for serious off-road riding.

Who is this bike best suited for?

This bike is best suited for experienced mountain bikers who enjoy off-road trails, technical terrain, and climbing. Its powerful motor and strong torque make it a great choice for challenging trails, while the front and rear suspension provide comfort on rough terrain. However, its range is slightly below average, so it may not be ideal for very long rides without additional battery options.

What are the main compromises of this bike compared to similar models?

Compared to similar mountain e-bikes, this model offers strong power and climbing support but has a slightly shorter range, which may require more frequent charging on longer rides. The charging time is also quicker than average, which is a benefit, but the bike's weight and lack of a folding frame may make it less convenient for storage or transport. Additionally, the chain drive system, while reliable, requires more maintenance than alternatives like belt drives.
